NOISE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
music by Merzbow (Masami Akita) , Keiji Haino, Dror Feiler, Lou Reed, Francisco Lopez, Phill Niblock, Zbigniew Karkowski, Lee Ranaldo, Fennesz...
However it might be called: noise, drones, industrial, glitch, experimental rock... one of its main charactristics is the physical impact on the listeners, or, to speak primitively (in the urban sense of Béla Bartók’s rural reference): its force - an industrial, technologically amplified one. Noise is contemporary music. It’s not only loud, but also refined. It’s abrasive, crazy and energetic, confrontational, affective and transformative. As Dror Feiler puts it: "As organized sound this music demands from the very beginning active and concentrated listening … it requires the listener spontanously to compose its inner movement and demands of him not mere contemplation but praxis."
