zeitkratzer pays its tribute to Xenakis: the painstakingly developed instrumental character of his electronic sounds is traced back to its origins. Xenakis[a]live! can be heard as a paraphrase on Xenakis own “persepolis”-piece: Sound materials and textures from works such as Persepolis, Concret PH in any case correspond to the notorious qualities of the zeitkratzer sounds between metaphysical roars and violent noise, between aphrodisiac and shock therapy, as proved recently with zeitkratzer's legendary Lou Reed MetalMachineMusic version. Now zeitkratzer takes one further step with Reinhold Friedl’s composition “Xenakis[a]live!: Xenakis goes rock 'n' roll!
